This photo was taken just before we left on our world trip in August 2017. At the time we were busy planning and working out butts off getting ready to go. One evening we went out just the two of us and hiked around one of our favorite places in Vancouver (Golden Ears). It was cold but also beautiful and serene. That evening calmed my fears and anxiety about leaving plus we got some great misty photos!👌👌

I wish all of you could have come and watched Whitney trick or treat for the first time! 😆 Not only did she look adorable in her outfit but she was so funny walking around the neighborhood with her candy! She wanted to hold all of her candy and didn't like it when we tried to put it in her bag. A few times she actually dropped her candy in a candy bowl so she could pick up new candy in her hand. I think that's called a candy exchange, Whitney! 😂 She would also ask strangers for more candy ("Mo? Mo?") and try to go inside their house. 😂 I think I'm going to enjoy Halloween much more as a parent than I ever did as a kid! 🎃👍

This morning Mike asked me, "how can we be better parents to Whitney?" I love the humility in his question and I love that he always wants to be better.

What's something that you would tell your younger self to do differently when your kids were young? Or something that you're trying to do now? We want to treasure these years when she is an active and happy toddler.

The best part of traveling as a family so far has been having Whitney along with us! Some people say travel ends when you start having kids and we would say travel is just getting good when you add kids...

At times it's hard. There have been many sleepless nights, long difficult car rides, really bad jetlag, meltdowns during photoshoots, and so much more! I can remember one evening in Spain we went to a beautiful white painted town and were enjoying live music, beautiful weather, and delicious gelato. Mike went to talk to a store owner and Whitney completely melted down in the middle of the Town square 😑. It was quite a scene and I ended up chasing her around trying to buckle her back in the stroller. It. Was. Rough! After days like this we have to remind ourselves that we've chosen this lifestyle and that no matter where we are it would be hard at times! Right?! We also have to just laugh in difficult situations because that's the best way to get through it!

We also have so many incredible & memorable moments as a family. This photo above was take during a beautiful sunset in Australia. We hopped out of the campervan and ran out to the beach to catch the last of the sun, Whitney was being so smiley and giggly and it felt like time had just stopped. Times like these far outweigh the hard ones. We can't wait to experience both the hard and the good with two kids! 🙏😂

Our favorite campsite in Australia was the most difficult to find... we got here late in the evening after wandering a dirt road in the middle of no where with no cell service. 😂 Once we finally found this spot we built a fire and listened to the sound of the ocean a few hundred yards away!

After Whitney and I went to bed Mike made friends with a possum in the tree and fed him the rest of our dinner! 😆😆 It actually really spooked him out at first! In the morning we woke up to kangaroos around our campervan and a foggy beach, it was so memorable and perfect. We love you Australia!!!

We went out for a beautiful hike in Provo Canyon on Saturday and Mara slept the entire 2 hours! I was nervous that we might be cold but she seemed very content and happy the entire time. ☺️😘
