We travel as a family in search of the world’s most unique experiences and amazing landscapes. We love hiking with our daughters, exploring foreign countries, making new friends, and eating gelato.
Rewind to 2015
We had just been married and were crazy in love! We had big crazy dreams, BUT we also had more than 100k in student loan debt. We knew that in order to make our dreams a reality, we needed to get out of debt.
So we came up with a plan and started hustling. We worked our butts off and with a lot of motivation and guidance from Dave Ramsey books and podcasts we were able to pay off our debt in two years. Woot woot!
Paying off our debt and de-cluttering our lives paid us back tenfold. It gave us the freedom and confidence to pursue our dreams.
Through the process, we also learned important communication skills that shaped our marriage. In a strange way, we’re grateful for a big challenge that cemented us together.
Pursuing Our Dreams
Our big crazy dream was to be able to travel the world and work remotely doing things we loved. For Mike that was full-time photography and video and for me that was visiting cultures around the world as a family and making a positive impact.
Mike had long dreamt of leaving his corporate marketing job and transitioning to a full-time adventure/travel photographer, and getting out of debt was the liberation he need to jump in with both feet.
We decided to head out on an adventure around the world when Whitney was just 4 months old. Perfect time to start traveling, right?
Building Phase
In the next two years we visited 17 countries while Mike built his photography portfolio. Mike’s creative storytelling and natural ability to capture genuine moments attracted brands such as L.L.Bean, Wyndham Resorts, Ergo Baby, Mountain Buggy, and Dove Men+Care.
While Mike is the director of our creative department, I’m the director of the travel planning and logistics. We make a pretty awesome team because of our combined love for travel, photography, and videography.
Moving Forward
Our goal is to continue to create content, for ourselves and for brands we love, that inspires people to spend time with family and visit places that they dream about.
